Netherfield Cricket Club lost by three wickets to Garstang in a pre season friendly encounter.

The team from Parkside Road played a mixed squad with some first team and second team players within the ranks.

Netherfield who batted first were all out for 171. The top scorer of the innings was Brad Earl who made 48 runs, while Earl formed a partnership of 61 with Geeth Malinda who chipped in with 36 runs.

Isaac Medhurst impressed with a knock of 27 while Garstang's Daniel Gilbert returned figures of 3-34 in the opening innings.

In reply Garstang knocked the runs off for the loss of 7 wickets as they closed on 175-7. Matt Crowther top scored with 45, as he put on a third-wicket partnership of 64 with Michael Walling.

Medhurst and Scott Clement returned the best figures as Medhurst claimed 2-28, while Clement closed with figures of 2-18.

Netherfield entertain Blackpool Cricket Club in the season opening game before they play another home game against Eagley in The National Knockout on Sunday.
