A CUMBRIAN contractors enjoyed success at Building Excellence Awards.
Penrith-based Atkinson Building Contractors were among more than 350 guests at the Northern Local Authority Building Control's (LABC) awards ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel Newcastle Gateshead.
Following the completion of the £3 Million design and build upgrade of the Outward Bound Ullswater Centre, Atkinson's received an LABC award for Best Educational Project.
The awards celebrate achievements in the construction industry, rewarding buildings and companies as well as partnerships and individuals that go that extra mile.
The awards value more than just the look of a building, including outstanding craftsmanship, technical innovation and high performance.
Neil McKaskie, Company Director, said: “We were very proud that we achieved such recognition for our hard work among strong competition and at such a prestigious event. It meant a great deal as we had put such a lot of effort into this project over a long period of time. The win proves that this was all worthwhile and proves what we are capable of."
As regional winners, Atkinson’s are now shortlisted for the LABC Grand Finals which will be held in London this autumn.
