A DRUG dealer found by police with £280 worth of heroin has been jailed.
Officers executed a search warrant at Callum Monk’s home address on March 27 as part of the 12-day long Operation Quadrant that saw around £6,000 worth of drugs seized from the streets of south Cumbria.
During the search of Monk’s home, officers found a plastic Kinder-egg type container, which had within it 17 individual deals of heroin.
Police also found further items consistent with drugs supply, such as a set of electronic scales, an empty Kinder-egg type container, and a number of pieces of plastic such as those used to create street deals.
Monk, 28, of Ramsden Street, Barrow, was sentenced to 32 months at Preston Crown Court after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin at an earlier hearing.
A Cumbria Police Spokesperson said: “When interviewed, Monk claimed that much of his heroin was for personal use, however our investigation showed that he had been involved in the supply of the drug in Barrow. I am pleased that he pleaded guilty to the crime he committed and that today he has been punished for it.
“We will continue to conduct such warrants as part of proactive police operations, but also as part of our day-to-day effort to take these criminals off our streets. Anyone involved in the supply of drugs should see this as yet another warning that we will find you and ensure you are brought before the courts.”
Anyone with information about the supply of drugs can contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
