A FURNESS couple are hoping to open a cafe as a community hub for villagers, ramblers, dog walkers and caravanners.
Pam and John Southward are seeking planning consent for the venture at West View, Sandside, Kirkby-in-Furness.
The cafe idea has attracted nine letters of support so far to South Lakeland District Council.
The couple hope to serve soup, coffee, scones and toasted teacakes on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday afternoons, according to planning documents.
