A FUND raising campaign to save the bell tower at the medieval St Michael and all Angels Parish Church in Hawkshead received a boost from a dinner held at The Daffodil Hotel in Grasmere.
The event was attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Cumbria, Claire Hensman and Peter Hensman, the High Sheriff of Cumbria, Alistair Wannop and Julie Wannop. Guests enjoyed a meal and were entertained by a magician, a silent and live auction and danced the night away to the band Echo Beach.
Fundraiser Dawn Bonham said: "I am absolutely delighted with the way the evening has gone. It looks like we have raised many thousands pounds and everyone has had a wonderful time".
She thanked all those who had attended, and who had contributed to the event. Anyone interested in supporting The Bell Tower Fund should contact: dbtowerproject@gmail.com.
