A ROAD traffic accident involving a car and a cyclist occurred at the junction of the Crook Road (B5284) with the Lyth valley road (A5074), Windermere.

The incident took place at around 8:15pm, on Thursday, May 18, and involved a Silver Mercedes estate car, driven by a man with a woman as passenger, and a pedal cyclist.

The pedal cyclist suffered from injuries believed to be serious but not life threatening, and was taken to Royal Lancaster Hospital for treatment.

Police are wishing to speak to anyone who witnesses the accident, and to the driver of the Mercedes.
