THE second Windermere Boat Show has been hailed a huge success and boosted awareness of life around the lake.
The show – which was held last weekend – drew record visitors from across the UK to the lake.
Thousands basked in the South Lakeland sunshine and took part in free taster sessions from stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking to sailing with local activity providers.
And, more than 30 businesses from across Cumbria and the country came to exhibit – including Norfolk-based Dad’s Boats with their hand crafted pedal boat, which gave trips around the bay.
Event organiser Joe Beaumont said: “The boat show proved to be a huge success, with numbers significantly up from last year. And, it has increased the public awareness of what this beautiful lake has to offer.
“The jetty was a hive of activity as there was plenty for all to enjoy. I would like to thank visitors, exhibitors, volunteer marshals and in particular South Lakeland District Council for making the show an overwhelming success.
“It is set to be a regular on Windermere’s boating calendar and we now look forward to planning Windermere Boat Show 2019.”
