MUSIC lovers are being invited to party the night away while raising money for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

The charity is hosting a live music event on Saturday, June 3 at the Westmorland County Showground, Crooklands, as part of the popular Country Fest weekend.

Tickets for the marquee night are just £10 and the headline act is Twenty Four Seven, a six-piece band from Morecambe that has played alongside such famous names as Jools Holland and The Drifters. Frontman Steve Wren was part of Mint Royale, whose hits included Don't Falter, with Lauren Laverne, and a chart-topping remix of Singin' in the Rain.

Country Fest's organisers have given Rosemere free use of a marquee for the Saturday night, and you do not have to be a Country Fest visitor to attend the music event.

Tammy Hoskins, Rosemere's south Cumbria fundraising coordinator, said: "We have booked bands that have a great reputation for their musicianship and dancefloor filling. What could be a better way of celebrating the start of summer than with an all-night party?"

All proceeds from the band night will go to Rosemere's 20th anniversary appeal, which aims to raise £1.5 million for an advanced robotic surgical system to enable more patients to undergo keyhole rather than open surgery.
