A MAN in his forties was attended to by Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team yesterday (May 25) after becoming stuck on a ledge overlooking Glenridding.
The 47-year-old was spotted by the fire brigade, who reported that they had seen the distressed man above Greenside Mine.
The team were called to him by Cumbria Police at just before 8.45pm.
They made there way to his location over difficult terrain, ensured he was safe and uninjured then, proceeded to rig a rope system to enable him to descend the fell.
It was described by Patterdale MRT as a 'challenging rescue' that involved 11 members of the team.
