FOUR people have been rescued from the mud at Arnside this afternoon.
A man, woman and two teenagers became trapped by the tide.
Emergency services, including police, paramedics and the coastguard, as well as Flookburgh-based Bay Search and Rescue, all rushed to the scene around 1.30pm.
A coastguard spokesperson said it took about half an hour to free those trapped.

PC Eric McKinley told our reporter at the scene: "The coastguard was absolutely superb. If it was not for them it could have been a lot worse."
