Kendal lost by 112 runs to Blackpool at Stanley Park on Saturday.

The Auld Greys had done well in the early stages of the first innings after the hosts were in trouble on 97-7, however the lower order batting of Ben Howarth who posted 50 off 111 balls saw Blackpool all out for a competitive 164. Jason Dawes did much of the damage with the ball as took 6-44 on his return from injury.

In reply Joshua Boyne took 6-11 as Kendal were all out for 52 off just 21.1 overs.

Kendal made a bright start in the first innings when Dawes trapped Ciaron Johnson LBW before the West Indian picked up the wickets of Matthew Houston and Dan Barling as Blackpool were reduced to 32-3.

The Auld Greys continued to take wickets with Saeed Bariwala bowling Stephen Twist before Chris Miller removed Andy Furniss and Joshua Boyne, while Blackpool toiled onto 56-6.

Dawes added the wicket of Tom Jefferson who fell for 39 off 92 balls as Blackpool found themselves in further trouble on 97-7.

However Blackpool fought back as Howarth frustrated Kendal with a knock of 50 off 111 balls. Howarth and Paul Danson led the recovery as they guided their team onto 130.

Kendal broke the partnership after Danson picked out Miller off the bowling of Bariwala, before Dawes finished with a return of 6-30 after taking the wickets of Jake Muncaster and Howarth as Blackpool were all out for 164 off 49.4 overs.

In reply Kendal made a terrible start when both Ryan Shephard and Oliver Tyson were dismissed by Chris Baines.

Things continued to get worse when Zachary McCaskie picked out Stephen Twist off the bowling of Tom Jefferson as Kendal fell further behind onto 35-3.

Kendal from that point collapsed to 50-7 in quick succession as Boyne ripped through to dismiss Joseph Dodds, Ben Phillips, Dawes and Bariwala.

Boyne then saw off Richard Dakin ands Miller, before Tom Jefferson took Paul Dodds' wicket who picked out Paul Danson as Kendal were all out for 52 off 21.1 overs.

Kendal host Lancaster on Saturday.
