PUPILS at a South Lakeland school took part in a countrywide Brushathon as part of National Smile Month.
Supported by Crossbank Dental Practice, Kendal, children at Dean Barwick Primary School, Witherslack, learned all about the importance of maintaining healthy teeth and gums.
They then brushed their teeth both indoors and outdoors and had lots of fun learning about oral hygiene.
Head teacher Paul Macfarlane said "We are very grateful for the support of Crossbank Dental Practice in hosting this event, we've had some great discussions with pupils about brushing teeth, favourite toothpastes and so on.
"The children have thoroughly enjoyed taking part and today has really helped to raise awareness of the importance of taking care of teeth and gums."
