PUPILS, parents and teachers took to the fells around Crosby Ravensworth CE School on a sponsored walk - raising nearly £1,000 for school funds.
Children from nursery through to Year Six were given a choice of three challenging routes through stunning countryside – two miles, six miles and 12 miles.
Head teacher Duncan Priestley said: “We’re so lucky to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. I’m determined that the children should never take it for granted.
“This year was a first; we’ve never set such complicated and lengthy walks before. For the 12 mile route, we left school at 9am and didn’t return until 3.30pm with just a short break for lunch. I couldn’t be prouder of the children.”
