GRAPHICS students from Kirkbie Kendal School have been invited to a ceremony in London after successfully taking part in a major design competition.
Pupils participating in the Schools Starpack Packaging Design Awards were tasked with creating a plastic liquid soap dispenser designed to encourage young children to wash their hands regularly.
Renee Aspin, R-Jay Martinez and Jamie Banks-Walhead all received bronze awards for their designs and creations, with Alice Dyer being awarded a Future Potential Award.
The winning students have been invited to attend an awards ceremony on June 28 at the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, in London.
Louise Baron, the students’ teacher, said: “I’m really proud of what this year’s students have achieved. Their designs were innovative and versatile. They realised their designs on paper and then created 3D models in clay, giving the students the opportunity to follow the design process from start to finish. These awards recognise their efforts, and they should all be congratulated."
