A MAN died after collapsing near the summit of the Old Man of Coniston on Friday afternoon.
The 50-year old man, who had suffered a cardiac arrest, died at the scene.
Ten members of Coniston Mountain Rescue Team and eight members of the Duddon and Furness team attended the incident, which lasted just over four hours.

North West Ambulance Service, Helimed and the Great North Air Ambulance were also scrambled.
A spokesperson for Coniston Mountain Rescue Team said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the gentleman's family and friends. We are very sorry for your loss."
