FAMILY came from Austria and Canada to celebrate a Lake District couple's marital milestone.
Jack and Jean Greenwood marked the occasion with a party for friends and family at Alexandra Court, Windermere, where they have lived for three years.
They met in 1956 at a mutual friend's house in Denton where they were both born and got engaged at Christmas the same year. Six months later they married at St Hilda's Church, Audenshaw.

Mr Greenwood worked abroad in the petro-chemical industry in various countries including Korea, Algeria, Libya and Saudi Arabia.
The couple moved to Windermere in1983 and have lived in Alexandra Court, a retirement development, since 2014 where they continue to enjoy life, including a weekly game of short tennis at the Marchesi Centre.
Their son, Ian, and his wife came over from Canada and their daughter, Julia, travelled from her home in Austria for the celebration.
The couple also received a congratulations card from her Majesty the Queen.
