DERWENTWATER Regatta – this is a really great family day where everyone who enjoys water related activities will enjoy ‘mucking about on the river,’ sorry lake!  There’s kayak sessions, coracle building, a group motorised trip around the lake, catamaran sailing, a Viking Longboat, dinghy sailing as well as a colourful funfair on Crow Park, Keswick, which also offers 50 great activities to get involved in. The event takes place from tomorrow (Friday) to Sunday (July 7-9), from 10am-4pm.

JOIN CBeebies Mister Maker in his live theatre tour, stopping off at The Sands Centre, Carlisle, on Sunday for two performances at 1.30pm & 4pm. There's a fabulous supporting cast and art is at its heart, encouraging Mini Makers and grown-ups to sing, dance and make some noise! There will be a 'big make' to take part in as well as loads of audience participation and ... The Shapes - they will also share in the fun - Circle, Square, Rectangle and Triangle, too!

THE smash-hit stage show Where Is Peter Rabbit? returns to the Old Laundry Theatre this summer to delight and enchant audiences. If you didn't know already, the play is inspired by the world-famous stories created by Beatrix Potter and include her favourite characters, from Peter Rabbit himself and Jemima Puddleduck to villainous badger Tommy Brock and Mr Tod the fox. This unique and visual theatrical spectacular is not to be missed so booking is very much advised to avoid disappointment. You can see Peter and friends on stage until September 3, at The World of Beatrix Potter's Theatre in Bowness-in-Windermere.

DERWENT Epic Lakes Swim, at Keswick, consists of three distances: 500m – great for first timers; 1,600m - The Classic Mile, most popular event and closely contested; 3.8k – it’s the official distance for ‘Ironman’ triathlon events and provides competitors with an opportunity to cover the distance in a realistic race setting. Each distance is a mass start, beginning at separate times. The event takes place on Sunday (July 9), Crow Park, opp Theatre by the Lake.

FURNESS Tradition Festival 2017 takes place from tomorrow (Friday) to Sunday (July 7-9) across venues throughout the town but centreing at the Coronation Hall. It is run entirely by volunteers who aim to promote awareness of, and participation in, the folk music traditions of Cumbria – especially Furness. The line-up this year includes Furness Tradition Community Band and performances from locals and festival guests, such as Steve Wharton, Ian Douglas, Peter and Barbara Snape and Dougie Mackay. The event also features storytelling, workshops and dancing.
