A 54-YEAR-OLD woman was rescued after slipping from a path towards Heck Crag, Bannerdale.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team assisted the walker on Monday (June 26) at around 3:45pm.

Initially the team found it difficult to determine where the casualty was and asked the air ambulance to assist.

Once the casualty had been found, she was treated by the crew of the air ambulance for a damaged ankle.
