SUMMER sunshine brought thousands of people out onto the streets to enjoy the Ulverston Carnival today.
Up to 8,000 people packed the pavements to see the huge parade and then moved on up to Ford Park for the culmination of the festivities.
In fact the town was so busy that by lunchtime most of the cash machines, which could spectators were grabbing cash for their parade donations.
The money raised this year will be distributed to five local cause: Ulverston Mind, Ulverston Mencap, Ulverston Inshore Rescue, Furness Carers and Animal Refuge Furness.
