WITH several new drinking spots opening their doors in the Gazette's patch, we asked you which your favourite establishment was.

The nominations flooded in and we have now collated the top five suggestions.

The Factory Tap in Kendal, Hawkshead Brewery and Beer Hall in Staveley, The Black Swan at Ravenstonedale, The Orange Tree at Kirkby Lonsdale and The Albion Social & Snooker Club in Kendal all made the shortlist.

Ronnie Mullin, owner of The Factory Tap said he was 'delighted' with the nomination.

"Delighted to have been voted in the top 5 especially with so many quality establishments in the Gazette catchment area. As a new pub (less than 2 years old) we have developed a loyal following of discerning drinkers and this is testament to their enthusiasm," he said.

Upon hearing the nomination news, Scott Fairweather, the head chef at The Black Swan said: "It's a fantastic feeling to be recognised for what we are quietly achieving here at The Black Swan and one we are very great full for.
