WORKMATES used pedal power to help raise the local profile of Rural Housing Week 2017.
Sheltered housing manager Gordon Sisson, of South Lakes Housing, cycled 54 miles to highlight the geographical area covered by the social landlord, which manages 3,000 homes.
Back at the office in Kendal, colleagues went head-to-head with Gordon on a static bike kindly loaned by Better Leisure, beating his time by 30 minutes.
Lyn Richardson, community engagement officer, said staff enjoyed the challenge so much they ended up cycling 115 miles, the equivalent of doing the Fred Whitton Challenge.
The event raised £69.70 for mental health charity South Lakeland Mind.
Rural Housing Week was run by the National Housing Federation to highlight and tackle housing issues in the countryside.
