NETHERFIELD Cricket Club captain Ben Barrow has warned his league-leading teammates to avoid complacency at Fleetwood this weekend, despite seeing his side open up a 24-point gap in the Northern Premier League.

The Parkside Road team look favourites to win the league title for the first time since 2008, and now boast a comfortable margin to second-placed Chorley.

They face a Fleetwood side who sit in sixth in the table, but Barrow said concentration levels must be kept high.

"We're playing well as a team but it's important not to get complacent because there's some good teams out there," he said.

"Fleetwood is always a tough game, they're very strong, and particularly at home.

"Obviously it would be a big moment for me and everyone at the club (to win the league). A lot of us have played together for a few years and nearly been good enough on a few occasions but this year we want to take it game by game and only talk about it when it's a done deal. There's a lot of cricket still to be played."

Barrow himself hit a season-best 86 on Saturday in Netherfield's convincing 182-run win over Lancaster.

The prolific Obus Pienaar added 68 for his sixth half century of the season as Netherfield reached 235. In the second innings, Nathan Chambers did the much of the damage with impressive figures of 5-27.

"It's obviously pleasing to contribute to the side," added Barrow. "We've been quite lucky this year in that every player has stepped up at some point and made a good contribution.

"It was nice to get some runs but the most important thing was the win."
