A DOMESTIC abuse charity based in South Lakeland has secured additional funding for the next three years.
Springfield, which is based in Kendal, will receive £105,000 from the Henry Smith Charity over the three years in order to maintain the refuge accommodation.
The service provides accommodation and support services for up to seven single women directly affected by domestic abuse.
Trustees will be launching a three year business plan at the forthcoming AGM in July and will formally propose the charity's new name as Springfield Domestic Abuse Support in South Lakeland.
The chair of the trustees, Anne Russell said: "These are exciting times for Springfield as we further develop our community service alongside the refuge.
"We want to provide a broad range of support services to all those affected by domestic abuse, including men. Springfield is very grateful to all our funders, both local and national and to our trustees and volunteers. Without them, we would struggle to provide these much needed services."
The charity is keen to recruit new trustees and volunteers. If you are interested, contact hello@sprigfieldvoices.org with your name and contact details.
