TWO people including a secondary school student have been taken to hospital after a car hit a group of pupils on a charity walk.
Around 130 year 8 and 9 pupils from Kirkbie Kendal School were walking through the car park at Sizergh Castle around lunchtime today (July 17).
Phil Hyman, the school's head teacher, said four students and one member of staff were injured.

One of the students has been taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary's A&E alongside an injured member of staff.
The other three pupils suffered bruising and did not require hospital treatment.
Mr Hyman said the driver did not act deliberately and that the car was travelling at a low speed. He also praised the actions of students, school staff, emergency services and staff from Sizergh Castle.
"It could have been much worse and even worse if the act was deliberate," he said.
