IT was a close shave for a group of friends who decided to mark the end of their time at school and Wharfedale RUFC U18’s Colts by having their heads shaved for charity.
Giggleswick School pupils - Rian Hamilton, Ollie Liebster, Fred Hewetson, Ben Taylor, and Will Bell - have so far raised £600 for Cancer Research UK and the Alzheimer’s Society and hope to have reached their target of £1,000 by the time their hair has grown back.
The boys had their heads shaved at Saks Hairdressers in Skipton.
Ben Taylor who lives in Giggleswick said: ‘I’m not sure it’s our best look but it’s all for two great causes that mean something to us all. It’s good to know that every pound we raise will help support research to find a cure and improve the lives of people living with dementia and cancer.’
