A 70-YEAR-OLD man suffered a head injury after slipping while descending Castle Crag, Borrowdale on Saturday (July 22).
Following his 10m fall, a group of walkers heard the man's shouts and looked after him until Keswick Mountain Rescue Team arrived.
North West Air Ambulance also mobilised its helimed from Blackpool to come and assist.
The Keswick MRT splinted the casualty into a vacmat to protect his neck and spine and he was then stretchered down to a field nearby to be loaded into Helimed 63.
Because of the nature of his injuries, he was flown to the Royal Preston Hospital.
