A NEW house planned for Wells Head Farm, Ford Road, Cartmel, was rejected by South Lakeland District Council.
Planners said the dwelling proposed by Mr and Mrs Andrew Cretney failed to preserve or enhance the character of the Cartmel conservation area.
Lower Allithwaite Parish Council also objected to the plan, which included the demolition of a single-story extension and garage.
