A 71-YEAR-OLD Kirkby Lonsdale man has run 30km and exceeded his fundraising targets in a challenge to raise money for North West Cancer Research.
Michael Threlfall, a retired head teacher, has raised £540 by running three 10k courses over three months. He completed his final 10km at the Great North Run in Gateshead following events at Bristol and Manchester.
He set himself the challenge earlier this year in honour of his father who he lost ten years ago to prostate cancer.
