A NEW musical put together by a talented writing duo is being showcased at the Edinburgh Fringe.
The Inevitable Quiet of the Crash, by Katie Hale, from near Shap, and Stephen Hyde, of Ellonby, is an intimate musical, telling the story of three women trapped in the suffocating bell jar of contemporary London. After the main man in their lives is killed in a train crash, they are forced to address the latent anxieties awoken by their grief, in order to move forwards. The show - which runs until August 28 (6pm shows) at C Royale on George Street, Edinburgh - uses a contemporary jazz drumming score that underpins the three narratives, and mimics the monotonous beat of the city.
