A NUMBER of emergency vehicles were called to Grange after a couple and their dog became stranded by the incoming tide.
The couple were walking their dog along the coast around noon on Tuesday (August 8) when they noticed the tide coming up through the sand.

Realising that they would be cut off from the mainland, they 'phoned the coastguard, who in turn contacted the police and fire brigade.
By the time the emergency services had got to the scene at 12.15pm, the couple and the dog had swum to the mainland. Nobody was injured.
The fire brigade provided blankets to keep those who had swam warm.
