BACK TO BACHARACH celebrates the magical music of Burt Bacharach, one of the most accomplished popular composers of the 20th Century, who together with Hal David penned some of the most memorable and iconic hits of all time.

The exciting production is on a UK tour, stopping off at the Platform at Morecambe on Friday, August 25 (7.30pm), and stars some of the leading West End singers accompanied by a 10 piece band recreating Burt Bacharach's timeless tunes.

The show includes hits such as Alfie, Anyone Who Had A Heart, Arthur's Theme, Always Something There To Remind Me, Close To You, I Say A Little Prayer For You, Magic Moments, Walk On By, What’s New Pussycat?, 24 Hours from Tulsa, Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head and many more.

Burt Bacharach was born on May 12, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri, but raised in New York City by artist and songwriter Irma Freeman and columnist Bert Bacharach. Initially encouraged by his mother, the young Bacharach studied music at the Mannes School of Music and McGill University in Montreal, where he apparently wrote his first song, The Night Plane to Heaven. After a stint in the US Army - during which time he played piano and arranged music for a dance band - he embarked upon a career as a songwriter at the end of the 1950s.

In 1957, Burt collaborated for the first time with lyricist Hal David. The pair struck gold almost immediately with hits for Marty Robbins, The Story of My Life, and Magic Moments for Perry Como.

To tie in with the UK performances, Back to Bacharach has partnered with Breast Cancer Now, donating £1 from each theatre ticket sold to the breast cancer charity.
