I recently attended Westmorland General Hospital at Kendal for NHS breast screening.
I was shocked to see a notice in the waiting area, which stated that 30 per cent of patients failed to attend their screening appointment. In one month that is 214 appointments.
Come on ladies, fortunately we do have choices. Attend, rebook or inform the service that you don't want the appointment but please don't waste precious NHS resources by not turning up.
