CUMBERLAND had to settle for a draw in the Minor Counties Championship game with Buckinghamshire at Sedbergh School.

Overnight rainfall left the Sedbergh School pitch in an unfit state that prevented any play on the final day, and despite the best efforts of everyone involved, the umpires called the game off at 3pm as the points were shared.

Cumberland held the advantage in the two days that were played after Gary Pratt had posted an undefeated knock of 143 off 213 balls in a dominant total of 319-6. Michael Slack also contributed with a knock of 96 off 214 balls.

However the man of the match was Toby Bulcock who returned stunning figures of 8-39. Bulcock who set a new Cumberland County Cricket bowling record ripped through the visitors who were all out for 176 off 73.4 overs.

In the second innings, Cumberland closed on 56-3 off 12 overs, while Ross Zelem closed with an undefeated knock of 29. However rain at the end of the second day wiped out play and both sides shared the spoils.
