A MAN who engaged two children in lewd online chat has been sentenced by a judge.
Carlisle Crown Court heard Daniel McKenzie Bradley, 33, used Snapchat to seek out under-16s. He engaged two girls - one of who was aged "in the region of nine or 10" - in sexual live conversation which he saved after installing a screen recording application.
He also requested explicit photographs.
Bradley was sentenced yesterday after admitting attempting to intentionally incite a female aged under 16 to engage in sexual activity; and causing or inciting a different girl to engage in sexual activity.
He also admitted downloading almost 100 illegal images - some classed in category A, the most serious.
Hearing of Bradley's "genuine remorse" and desire to change his ways, Judge Peter Hughes QC imposed a three-year community order. The judge concluded this would benefit society and prevent repeat offending.
Bradley, previously of Battlebarrow, Appleby, and now of Chorley, must complete a sex offender treatment course and a rehabilitation requirement.
He must also sign the sex offenders' register for five years.
