THE Skipton to Lancaster line was closed earlier today after a train carrying 28 passengers hit an object on the track.
No one was hurt in the incident which happened between Clapham and Giggleswick at around noon.
Northern say all passengers were evacuated from the train and taken back to Skipton.
A spokeswoman for the rail operator said they were unable to say what the object was at the moment.
The line from Skipton to Lancaster was closed, with services terminating at Skipton.
All the passengers on the train that hit the object were taken on to their destinations.
