STUDENTS from Newton Rigg College are to feature in one of the UK's favourite TV programmes, BBC's Countryfile.
On Sunday 17 September, the programme is celebrating the Lake District's new status as a World Heritage site, taking a look at what makes the region so special.
Presented by Ellie Harrison, the Countryfile programme includes film of some of the college's agriculture students learning to build dry stone walls and working with the college's herd of Luing cattle.
It was taken when Ellie and the film crew spent a day at the college's hill farm, Low Beckside.
Matt Bagley, Head of Agriculture said: "Countryfile has filmed with us on a number of occasions and we delighted to be included in this programme.
"It re-enforces the major role agriculture plays in the region's heritage, the importance of enthusing and inspiring the next generation of countryside custodians, and also the relevance of what we teach here at Newton Rigg College.
"We are all very much looking forward to watching the programme."
