TENANTS should not be afraid to ask for a gas safety certificate from their landlord if they are not given one, says the trade body for letting agents.
ARLA Propertymark is also calling on the Government to enforce compulsory carbon monoxide alarms in every rented property. At present, they only need to be in rooms with solid fuel burning. Chief executive David Cox is calling for greater protection for renters.
