A SOUTH Lakeland farmhouse has been featured on a Channel 4 property show.
Rossill Bridge Farm, at Whinfell near Kendal, was on A Place in the Sun: Home or Away? last Wednesday night.
It was one of a six houses looked at by a couple on the show, who had to choose between the Lake District and southern France.
The £700,000 house is being sold by Terry and Jane Belshaw, who have lived there for 35 years.
Mrs Belshaw said she was happy with how the property was presented but disappointed the programme missed out on showing the 'great community’ that exists in the area.
“I thought it put South Lakes in a good light," she said. "The only thing I thought let it down is they didn’t tell the lady who was worried about living in the country about the community of Selside and the things that go on.
“They have whisky tasting and there’s a pub night at the village hall. There’s a lot going on.
“It’s a great community and it’s a shame they didn’t share that.
“On the whole I was very pleased.”
It was suggested for the show by current agent Iain Bainbridge at Scott Bainbridge, Market Place, Kendal.
The couple on the show rejected the house in favour of a similar property in the Dordogne region of France.
Mr and Mrs Belshaw say it has been taken off the market for the winter but is still for sale.
