THIS year’s Levens Choir autumn tour takes musical director Ian Jones and his excellent ensemble across country to Norfolk and the splendours of Southwell Minster and Norwich Cathedral. As the prelude to their tuneful trip, they perform at Cartmel Priory on Saturday, October 21 (7.30pm) with guest singers joining the choir to rehearse and perform the central work in the concert: Dvorak’s incredibly lyrical and melodic Mass in D. Before the powerful Dvorak piece, Levens’ singers will perform other music from their Norfolk trip beginning with the wonderful new work by Scottish composer James MacMillan O Radiant Dawn.
