THE M6 northbound has reopened, having previously been closed due to a diesel spillage.

Part of the M6 northbound was closed after an accident between J36 and J37.

A wagon dropped two metal ramps on the carriageway. One of the ramps hit the underside of a HGV, causing it to spill diesel.

The fuel spread into lane three resulting in a full closure at around 7.05am.

Restrictions were in place from 6.10am.

Police attended but a spokesperson said that there does not appear to be any injuries.
