New role for Tim Farron
WESTMORLAND and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron has taken up a new role within the Liberal Democrats.
New party leader Vince Cable announced a reshuffle today, with his predecessor taking a position focusing on regenerating the north of England.
Mr Farron MP will also lead on rural affairs for the party.
The MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale since 2005 resigned from his position as Lib Dem leader following the general election in June.
