CLOTHING from Kendal's Maya Maya shop worth £4,000 has been donated to sight loss charity Sight Advice South Lakes to help support their fundraising efforts.
The partnership was formed following the shop's owner Amanda Slattery putting a post on Facebook asking for suggestions of which charity to donate the items to.
This is the second time Amanda has offered clothing to charities, previously giving items to St Johns Hospice.
Claire Park, chief executive for Sight Advice seized the opportunity and made contact with Amanda to discuss the offer and how to generate funds by holding a pop up sale event.
Claire said: “It’s such a generous thing to do. As a local charity we rely on the income we generate from holding local fundraising events.
"As we do not have a charity shop we are looking to hold a pop mega sale before Christmas to sell the quality items of clothing and promote the work of the charity."
Amanda added: “This is my way of supporting the local community. Sight Advice is a great cause and I am only too happy to be able to support.”
