POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man entered two Kirkby Stephen premises without permission.

The incidents occurred on October 19 at approximately 3pm in the Westgarth Road area of the town.

A white male, thought to be in his 30s and wearing a white shirt and black trousers, has entered the two addresses and when challenged by the occupants he claimed to be delivering a parcel.

He then enquired about the victim's neighbours as if he was trying to establish the correct destination for his parcel.

No items were stolen during either incident.

Police would also like to remind people to keep their doors locked even while at home.
