AN INCIDENT involving two lorries and cattle on the road has closed the M6 northbound.

Traffic is queuing following the incident, which happened between junction 39, Shap and junction 40, Penrith at around 7.30am.

Police have implemented a full closure of the junction while they transfer the cattle from one vehicle to another.

And on the M6 southbound, there is slow traffic and one lane closed due to an accident involving one vehicle.

The incident happened between junction 36, Kirkby Lonsdale and junction 35, Carnforth.

Lane one remains closed after the traffic was held for around 10 minutes due to a vehicle which has left the carriageway.
