AN 80-YEAR-old man arrested yesterday on suspicion of attempted murder remains in custody today.
Emergency services were called to a property in the New Road area of Kirkby Lonsdale at 7.49am to reports a woman had been assaulted.
The woman, in her 70s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital by air ambulance. She remains in a serious condition today, said police.
A cordon was placed outside the property while officers carried out enquiries.
