A KENDAL estate agent has now raised more than £3,000 through the charitable scheme he set up.

Scott Bainbridge Residential Sales and Lettings donates 10 per cent of its sale fees to charities and since setting up the scheme has sent £3223.50 to great causes.

Principal of the agency Iain Scott Bainbridge said: “I worked for a charity for 8 years after graduating. Especially now that I personally have multiple sclerosis I want to try to work to assist charities that help people in real need.

"We are particularly eager to support the wonderful work of St John’s Hospice in Lancaster as they provide a fabulous service to our community and yet remain so heavily dependent on donations and support from businesses."

Iain said he was keen to speak to any individuals or business owners who would be interested in backing this scheme.

"It might be that a business would like to get involved by matching the donations that we send either fully or partly," he said. "This would enable them to make a real difference without needing to get involved in setting up and managing the administration of a scheme."

Full details of monies sent are available on request from the Market Place office.
