THE Cumbria Westmorland Federation of Women's Institutes held their annual council meeting at The Villa, Levens.
More than 250 members attended and reports were given on events of the past year.
Members listened to speakers Debbie North who spoke about how she had overcome physical disabilities to continue her love of roaming the fells with the use of a special motorised wheelchair.
Also Peter Slack, a Derbyshire farmer, gave a humorous talk about ramblers who venture out into the Derbyshire National Parks.
The highlight of the day was the presentation of certificates to Levens WI who are celebrating 100 years since they were first formed in November 1917.
