TWO men have been arrested after a ram-raid style attempt to steal a cash machine from within a South Lakeland supermarket.
Cumbria Police are appealing for information after an attempted burglary at the Booths supermarket at Park Lane Milnthorpe.
The men, both from Durham and aged 29 and 41, have been released under investigation.
A dark coloured people carrier was seen in the area around the time of the incident, which occurred between 1.15am and 1.30am on Saturday (November 25).
Police have said the people involved have left the scene and headed towards Carnforth on the A6.
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity at the time, or who may be able to help in the investigation is asked to call 101 and ask for DC 2278 Garratt.
Police have also asked for anyone living in the area of Church Street, or the Milnthorpe crossroads, who may have CCTV footage to contact them.

Booths has declined to comment on the incident.
