A BATHROOM extractor fan was said to be the cause of a property fire which emergency services responded to in Milnthorpe today.

At 10.15am, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service were called to a house at Beetham Road.

On arrival, they found the occupants had already extinguished the flames, but firefighters assessed the scene to make sure the area was safe.

No injuries were reported from the call, which was attended one fire engine from Kendal and another from Milnthorpe.

Kendal station watch manager Richard Gibson said all damage was contained within the bathroom.
