THE shoppers' car park at Kendal's Marks & Spencer store could get automatic number plate recognition cameras if plans are given the go-ahead.
Euro Car Parks wants to install a pair of four-metre-high columns to hold the infra-red cameras, which would read the number plates of cars entering and leaving the Library Road car park. Seven new signs are also proposed.
The new system "will help regulate the use of the car park, allowing more customers and visitors" to use it, according to plans lodged with South Lakeland District Council.
